Procedure
What does getting porcelain veneers involve?
At your first visit the teeth that are going to be veneered are prepped. After getting numb a small amount of the surface of the tooth is reduced to accommodate for the thickness of the veneer. Impressions are taken and sent to the lab. Temporary veneers are fabricated to cover the teeth between visits.
At the second visit the veneers are tried in to confirm desired shape and color. The teeth are then prepared for bonding. The veneers are bonded to the tooth with a luting cement. Finally they are trimmed, shaped and polished.
Caring for your veneers is the same a caring for a natural tooth. They can be brushed and flossed. Veneers are both strong and durable.
